RF EngineerLocation: Lompoc, CASalary: $110,000 - $140,000+ $5,000 sign-on bonusIn this role, you will be responsible for the engineering functions needed to design, develop, modify, integrate, and test new subsystems for mono-pulse tracking radars on the Western Test Range. You will also lead an engineering team on the technical aspects of projects while collaborating with multi-disciplined project teams.Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and implement new capabilities for tracking radars.
- Perform complex system modeling, simulation, and analysis to identify optimal technical solutions.
- Assist the project manager in planning and executing engineering projects.
- Coordinate technical support personnel efforts on assigned projects.
- Analyze, develop, and recommend approaches to meet customer requirements.
- Serve as a point of contact for project information for internal management and external customers.
- Provide leadership and guidance to junior personnel.
- Offer technical expertise to restore operational systems as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- US Citizenship is required due to the sensitivity of the information.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or another STEM-related field.
- 5+ years of relevant radar engineering experience, including:
- Experience with RF systems, including local oscillators, doublers, mixers, and attenuators.
- Familiarity with monopulse radar tracking or shipboard radar systems is a plus.
- Experience working with high-power RF amplifiers (tube and solid-state).
- Knowledge of C-band pulsed Doppler tracking and wideband coherent imaging systems is preferred.
- Ability to read and create wiring diagrams, schematics, and mechanical drawings.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting, problem-solving, and strong analytical skills.
- Familiarity with legacy radar systems (AN/FPQ-6, AN/FPQ-14, AN/FPS-16) is desirable.
- Experience with antennas, antenna tracking systems, and hardware systems integration.
- Competence in digital interface design, including interface modules, cables, and connectors.
- Proficiency in specialized test equipment such as VOMs, spectrum analyzers, and oscilloscopes.
- Experience providing inputs for engineering project proposals.
- Strong technical writing skills for developing technical reports, white papers, and documentation.
- Familiarity with Linux and Windows operating systems.
- Experience with CAD software.
Work Location:
- Onsite position in Lompoc, CA.
- Occasional travel may be required.
