Position Description:The Electronics Technician position is responsible for the testing of our products to CE standards EN61000-6-3, CISPR-22 and any other applicable RF and ESD related standards. Additionally responsible for layout, construction, testing, troubleshooting, repair and modification ofdevelopmental and production electronic components, parts, equipment, and systems and supporting engineering, production and Quality control.Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:Applies electronic theory and related knowledge to layout, build, test troubleshoot, repair and modify developmental and production electronic equipment.Testing of RF emissions and susceptibility of all new products, and writing final reports for each product.Responsibilities include test set-up, test measurements, instrument verification/calibration, and data collection for operational and EMI/EMC testing of all electrical and electronic equipment from the module level to the complete system.Tests sample LEDs, reflectors, batteries and related components.Operates measurement equipment according to published National, International, and Military procedures and standards for data collection.Supports engineering with ANSI testing of existing and new products.Design and Setup of standard test apparatus and design special-purpose test equipment and circuitry.Conducts functional, operational, environmental and life tests to evaluate performance and reliability of prototype and production models.Performs calculations using Ohms law and power formulas.Analyzes data and writes Professional technical reports including charts, graphs and schematics to describe operating characteristics, malfunctions, deviation from design specification, and functional limitations for consideration by engineering personnel in broader determinations.Recommends changes in circuitry or specifications to improve reliability and function or simplify assembly and reduce costs.Develops test procedures for such parts in consultation with engineering and documents and stores data.Discusses procedures and problems with Electronics Engineer. Writes clear and accurate reports documenting all testing performed.Assists Quality Control with developing electrical and electronic test procedures and performs routine testing of production components and assemblies when needed.Maintains the electronics lab and its equipment and records.Assists Production, Returns and Repair Departments with repair and improvement of products.Performs related duties as assigned.Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Education Requirements:Requires minimum of an Associate degree in a related discipline plus at least five years of directly related experience.Familiarity with EMI/EMC test equipment and test procedures.Knowledge of application and testing of batteries, LEDs and battery charging circuitry; microprocessor experience a plus.Knowledge of lumen and candlepower measurements.Must be able to use all standard electronic test equipment as well as specialized RF test equipment for testing and evaluation of electronic circuitry.Able to solder both conventional and surface mount components and operate any standard shop equipment required to perform assigned projects.Must have ability to read and understand complex technical instructions, schematic diagrams, drawings and specifications, and to utilize specialized equipment and software to complete assignments.Must be able to communicate and interface effectively with all levels of technical personnel, interpret and explain complex information, establish priorities, and respond to non-routine issues or situations that require evaluation and interpretation.Experience with designing and building circuits for functional test equipment.Must be able to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information.Able to work with only general guidance.#J-18808-Ljbffr
