We have experienced continued growth embracing our mission, Raise Your Experience.Position Summary:The Equipment Operator / Rigger position is an installation technician who has been trained and been certified in the safe operation of Aerial Work Platforms and has experience with outdoor rigging and d cor installation.Essential Duties:1. Conduct daily inspections of and operate boom lifts.2. Suspend materials using safe entertainment rigging methods and recognized industry standards3. Install d cor while operating lifts.Minimum Qualifications:EDUCATION:Required: High School Diploma or GEDPreferred: Vocational or technical training Field of Study: welding, engineering, rigging, carpentry,electronics, audio, construction, electrician. The knowledge needed for this position are often not found intraditional college educations. Technical theatre education will be the closest thing, but so would any educationin audio, lighting, electronics, rigging, welding, carpentry, design, 3D modeling software. It s a myriad oftechnical skills that makes this a helpful educationEXPERIENCE:3 to 5 years of experience in the technical entertainment field with 1 to 2 years of rigging and equipment operation experience.LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:Valid driver s license required. OSHA and similar construction safety certification(s) helpful. ETCP rigger certification helpful.Key Competencies:Basic knowledge of a working theatrical space - fly systems, rigging, rehearsal schedules, facility requirements, knots, awareness of other aspects of production and their needs from your position and from the space, basic carpentry, basic electrics, ability to interpret and create construction drawings.Solutions-based troubleshootingFriendly and proactive personalityAbility to interface with clients, coworkers, and laborers to maintain a positive work environmentOrganizational skills in office and on-siteExcellent verbal communication skills and customer service - communicates through various mediums such as email, text, phone call, and in-person conversations.Awareness of dangers and hazards associated with job functions and willingness to mitigate those risksExpert troubleshooting of technical issues in a theatrical/production settingWork Environment: While on-site, frequent exposure to unfavorable conditions such as all-weather, orworking in cramped, very dirty, or unpleasant quarters. The Equipment Operator/ Rigger will often be on-site and need to work in hot/humid, cold/freezing, rain, and snow conditions to complete the job before the deadline.Physical Effort: Strenuous Physical effort represented by frequent handling of heavy objects (approx. 50-75 lbs.) and materials, or heavy hand tools. While on-site the Equipment Operator/ Rigger frequently operates heavy equipment and heavy hand tools. Standing for long periods of time, but often kneeling, bending, working from my back and at heights well over 50 feet.HazardsFrequent existing or potential hazards. Moderate existing or potential hazards. In office, there is very little exposure to hazards.
