HUTCO, INC.Position: RiggerJob Location: Morgan City, La.Hutco Branch: Houma, La.Rate Of Pay: $20.00 per hourDESCRIPTION:Currently seeking Riggers for shipyard work in Morgan City, La. To be considered for this opportunity, you must have at least 3 years of previous Rigging experience.REQUIREMENTS:
- Must pass drug test.
- Personal Protective Equipment:
- Hard Hat, Steel Toe Safety Boots, Safety Glasses, Gloves
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Thorough knowledge of equipment used in rigging operations, included but not limited to lifting and moving equipment.
- Knowledge of rigging testing requirements, proper set up and operation of equipment.
- Selects cables, pulleys, winces, blocks and sheaves according to weight and size of load to be moved.
- Attaches pulley and blocks to fixed overhead structures such as beam and ceilings with bolts and clamps.
- Attaches load with lifting devices such as wires, nylon straps and chains to crane hook.
- Gives directions to crane operator engaged in hoisting and moving loads to ensure safety of workers and material handled.
- Sets up cranes hoisting equipment.
- Safe handling of anchors and chains.
- Lowers, handles and test lifeboats.
- Test ships crane using various rigging.
- Ability to interpret all crane load charts and blueprints.
- Manipulate and transport loads of up to 50 pounds over a distance of up to 200 feet, approximately 1 to 6 times during each eight (8) hour shift.
- Traverse gangways and scaffolding at varying heights.
- Traverse and negotiate uneven heights and surfaces.
- Ascend and work at heights of up to 30 feet.
- Stooping, squatting, twisting, kneeling, and reaching.
- Employee will be required to follow all company policies and report any accidents or unsafe conditions encountered.
