Looking for an experienced Automation Technician for a company designing, manufacturing, and installing stage, studio, and theatrical equipment for the entertainment industry. We manufacture and install stage curtains, counterweight and motorized rigging systems, theatrical lighting, dimming and control equipment, a complete line of expendables and hardware, as well as custom theatrical equipment.
As an Automation Technician, you will be responsible for installing and testing automated machinery, as it pertains to theatre installations, in order to complete exact tasks.
Primary duties include, but are not limited to:
- Exploring and implementing new ways to automate theatrical rigging systems
- Producing, installing, and testing theatrical automation equipment and systems
- Programming and testing new automated components
- Identifying quality issues and writing reports
- Determining defects and errors with product and software development
- Collaborating with other companies and systems
Requirements
- Associates degree or Trade school and applicable experience with electrical and mechanical systems
- Proficiency in maintaining automation equipment
- Some programming knowledge and experience with computer programming and software development
- Willingness to travel (60% of the year)
- Healthy respect for heights
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment and perform complex system tests
