Job DescriptionGpac has partnered with a leading industrial equipment moving service that has been a cornerstone in the industry for over 40 years. We are seeking an experienced Rigging Crew Lead to join our team. This full-time, salaried position is based in Tennessee and offers excellent opportunities for growth and professional development. The role is physically demanding and requires strong mechanical and spatial reasoning skills, as well as the ability to operate heavy equipment.Responsibilities:
  • Leadership & Supervision: Lead and manage a team of riggers and machinery movers, fostering their professional growth and ensuring the safe and efficient execution of projects in line with the company's mission, vision, and values.
  • Project Management: Conduct site visits, prepare and submit quotes, and maintain clear communication with customers regarding project requirements, timelines, and expectations.
  • Equipment Operation: Utilize high-capacity forklifts (Versa-Lifts), skates, jacks, and other heavy machinery to move equipment and meet customer requirements.
  • Best Practices: Stay informed about the latest industry practices in rigging and machinery moving, sharing knowledge with the team to continually improve operations.
  • Maintenance Oversight: Ensure proper pre- and post-project inspections and preventative maintenance on assigned equipment, reporting any necessary corrective actions to the Director of Field Operations and Maintenance Director.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other responsibilities as directed to support the team and ensure successful project completion.
Qualifications:
  • Certifications: NCCO Rigger 1, 2, and Signalman qualifications are REQUIRED.
  • Licensing: Class A CDL with no restrictions is REQUIRED.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years as a rigger with at least 3,000 documented rigging hours.
  • Skills: Strong mechanical reasoning and spatial awareness, with the ability to assess machinery and shop floors to plan and execute moves effectively.
  • Situational Awareness: Ability to anticipate requirements and hazards, and develop on-the-fly solutions to mitigate risks and ensure safe operations.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks repeatedly over the course of an 8-10-hour shift.
  • Attention to Detail: Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
