With $2B+ in rent and deposits guaranteed, we have been named one of Inc. 5000's fastest-growing companies, one of Forbes' Best Startup Employees, and one of Deloitte's 2023 Technology Fast 500.The OpportunityWe are looking for a Risk Analytics Associate to join the Risk Management team, reporting to the Senior Director of Risk Analytics. this role will support the management and development of risk analyses for our products, assist in updating data science models, and apply quantitative approaches to address key business questions related to underwriting and growth. This position is ideal for an analytical thinker with an interest in risk management, data analysis, and insurance.You will have the chance to work on varied projects with meaningful impact, collaborating across teams to support business priorities. The ideal candidate enjoys working in a dynamic environment, tackling data-driven challenges, and is eager to develop their expertise within a collaborative team.Responsibilities
  • Analyze and Optimize Underwriting: Continuously review and refine insurance underwriting and screening practices.
  • Data Management and Analysis: Extract and manipulate large, complex data sets, developing insights and presentations to support decision-making.
  • Conduct Actuarial / Risk Analysis: Perform actuarial evaluations on various products and portfolios, supporting accurate pricing and forecasting.
  • Fraud Analytics: Identify and analyze patterns of fraudulent activity within insurance claims and underwriting processes. Work with cross-functional teams to implement strategies and tools that improve fraud detection and prevention.
  • Develop Risk Models: Create, maintain, and improve forecasting and monitoring models to optimize risk management and/or underwriting decisions.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Generate clear project documentation and visual presentations to effectively communicate insights.
  • Machine Learning Collaboration: Contribute to data engineering, model development, and implementation for machine learning projects based on skills and interest.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Represent the Risk team in cross-functional projects, working with other teams to drive strategic initiatives and meet business objectives.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Data Science, Economics) preferred.
  • 5-10 years of experience in finance, underwriting, consulting, or insurance preferred.
  • Experience in fraud analytics or fraud detection is highly preferred, with an understanding of identifying and mitigating fraudulent patterns within data.
  • Proficiency in Excel and SQL required.
  • Python skills for data analytics and/or data science purposes are highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with data analytics dashboarding tools (e.g., PowerBI, Fabric, or Tableau).
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
  • Self-driven and results-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage analytics to shape strategy and tactics, with a proven track record of deriving actionable insights from data.

Base SalaryThe base salary range is between $120,000 - $160,000 annually.Base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits.
