Health Partners of Western Ohio

Monday - Friday 8:00 - 4:30 pm

SUMMARY:

The Risk Management Coordinator is responsible for managing incident reports and assisting the Risk Manager with determining risk levels and developing plans to minimize risks to the organization. Additional responsibilities include annual risk assessments, incident reporting and follow-up, and root cause analysis.

QUALIFICATIONS:

* Bachelor's degree in nursing, allied health, healthcare administration or related fields.

* 2+ years of experience in risk management or a related role.

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

* Excellent organizational and communication skills.

* Strong attention to detail.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:

Attendance at HIPAA and compliance educational programs is a requirement of employment.

* Supports a patient-centered healthcare home where the patient-provider relationship is encouraged, with an emphasis on coordination of care and the establishment of a long-term healing relationship.

* Supports open patient access to and coordination of care that is supported by information technology.

* Promotes effective and appropriate use of integrated health services at HPWO as part of a Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) model of care.

* Conducts detailed risk assessments.

* Compiles and analyzes data and information about the organization, its practices, and legal obligations.

* Reviews risk management policies and procedures in coordination with the Risk Manager.

* Records and tracks all incidents within Health Partners' organization.

* Evaluates risk levels and implications and reports findings to the Risk Manager.

* Recommends policies, process improvement activities, and plans to reduce and control risks and liabilities to the Risk Manager.

* Prepares and presents reports and proposals related to Risk Management.

* Supports Risk Manager on risk management activities related to patient care, patient safety, and employee health.

* Attends Risk Management meetings.

* Develops quarterly risk management reports for reporting to the Quality Improvement Committee, Risk Management Committee, Board of Directors, and Administrative Team.

* Assists Risk Manager and Chief Analytics Officer with liability insurance, malpractice and/or FTCA Claims.

* Completes all other duties as necessary within the scope of this position as requested by the Risk Manager.

* Performs other duties as assigned.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Work is primarily sedentary, demanding sitting, walking, lifting, and bending. Those physical movements and the degree of mobility, manual dexterity, and hand-eye coordination commonly associated with duties in an office setting will be performed repetitively. This also includes bending, twisting, reaching, lifting, pulling, pushing, and walking. The ability to distinguish letters and symbols and utilize telephones, computer terminals, fax machines, and copiers is required. The work environment characteristics described here represent those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
