Job SummaryWith a patient centered culture, the Risk Manager (Clinical Safety) coordinates Mon Health System's risk management functions to maximally assure the identification of risk exposure, assessment, appraisal, and loss prevention are carried out so that the System remains safefor its patients, families, and employees. The Risk Manager (Clinical Safety) identifies and limits legal exposure and directly assists in the handling and defense of legal claims.ResponsibilitiesPlanningThe Risk Manager (Clinical Safety) effectively identifies and obtains required resources to ensure issues are researched and risks mitigated in a proactive, efficient and effective manner. This role anticipates problems and barriers and identifies solutions and takes corrective action prior to legal actions.Strategic ExecutionThe Risk Manager (Clinical Safety) drives organizational objectives by proactively collecting, analyzing and reporting data to present recommendations, explain associated benefits and risks and ensure the strategic initiatives of the System are efficient and effective.Emotional IntelligenceThe Risk Manager (Clinical Safety) serves as the role model for integrity, compassion, excellence and ownership through training and education of risk management and regulations. The Risk Manager (Clinical Safety) develops and fosters relationships with leaders across the System to support open communication, trust and collaboration.CommunicationThe Risk Manager (Clinical Safety) serves as the contact point for agencies, employees and leadership on issues concerning effective strategy of risk management. This role leads scheduling and documentation of Root Cause Analysis, assesses near misses and actual errors through Incident Reporting Systems and follows up with appropriate leadership. The Risk Manager (Clinical Safety) formulates strategies for communication of concerns regarding safety identified by the staff.Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesLight Work: Frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 10lbs with a maximum lifting of 25 lbs.At least five years of experience in a Hospital setting. Must be familiar with Institute Healthcare Improvement, Agency Healthcare Research Quality, Joint Commission, OSHA, CMS, and other regulatory standards. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with medical and administrative personnel and to manage stressful situations. Exhibits strong leadership skills. Must have strong written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated strong ability to use PCs, particularly Microsoft Office suite. Demonstrated ability to organize complex information and paperwork systems. Determination to maintain confidentiality at all times.
