Essential Functions And ResponsibilitiesEnter data into the database. Understand the Tribal Workers Benefits Process and file tribal work comp claims. Assist Legal Affairs Dept. in drafting relevant policies and procedure as assigned. Helps to maintain and enhance a safe, secure, and comfortable environment for guests and Team Members of the Downtown Casino Resort's properties. Assists with programs that will, (1) minimize risk of injury to Team Members and guests, (2) reduce loss of company assets, and (3) comply with regulatory issues. Track supplies, update SDS program documents as needed. Keeps all records filed & organized. Follows-up with departments after inspections to confirm that necessary changes were made. Assists in developing and coordinating training programs for gaming operation management and Team Members to enhance Risk Control Awareness and reduce loss. Conducts safety training as deemed by the Legal Affairs Department. and must be available to conduct training during all shifts. Assists with monitoring compliance with applicable Tribal, federal and state code requirements. Assists with formal inspection program as designed by the Legal Affairs Department. Assists with analyzing claims' data and assists with preparing management summary reports for Downstream Casino Resort management as assigned. Provides exceptional customer service to all patrons and communicates in a pleasant, friendly, and professional manner at all times. Maintains a professional work environment with supervisors and staff. Meets the attendance guidelines of the job and adheres to regulatory, departmental, and company policies. Attends all Safety Committee meetings and take minutes. Assist in other projects, as directed by the Legal Affairs Department Duties, responsibilities, requirements and expectations pertaining to this job are subject to change as needed. Hours are determined by 24-hour schedule.QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the essential duties and responsibilities satisfactorily.Must be a minimum of 18 years of age or older upon employment. Associate or Bachelor's degree in Safety Science or related field. Prefer a minimum of two years of previous experience in a risk/safety type role; experience as a paralegal or legal assistant will substitute. Must possess excellent communication skills. Ability to write routine correspondence and to speak effectively to the public, team members and customers. Prefer prior training experience. Must have the ability to deal effectively and interact well with the customers and team members. Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner. Must be able to be approved for and maintain a valid Key license. Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English. Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues. Must be able to work with highly confidential medical records without breaching privacy laws. Work nights, weekends and holidays as required. Employment is contingent upon a favorable outcome of a background investigation and drug screening.The Downstream Casino Resort Adheres to all applicable Resolutions of the Quapaw Nation of Oklahoma.
