Job Description: EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE•Current Iowa licensure as a Registered Nurse•Minimum of 2 year acute care experience
- Healthcare Provider BLS certification
- ACLS certification preferred
•Mandatory Abuse Reporter Certification within 6 months of hire•Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English well. EMR Used: EPIC Proof of covid exemption or covid card vaxxed
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF JOB•Under limited supervision, provides direct patient care•Plans, directs, and evaluates total nursing care for Med-Surg patients as directed•Relates effectively with other shifts for continuity of care; maintains satisfactory relations with other departments
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS•Ability to maintain confidentiality; and both a high standard of courtesy and cooperation in dealing with co-workers, patients, and visitors, and satisfactory job performance despite the stress of a hospital work environment.•Incorporates Mission, Vision, and Core Values into department, and ensures departmental employees and self adhere to these.•Regular and predictable work attendance•Wears appropriate apparel for the position and displays nametag upon such apparel.•Provides the best possible nursing care by planning, organizing, and directing the nursing functions of patients on the unit, including giving direct patient care•Is resourceful and calm in emergencies•Keeps physicians, nurses and other staff informed of patient needs, and problems on the unit as necessary•Utilizes gathered data in determining priorities for patients' physical, psychological, educational and discharge needs in formulating the plan of care•Identifies problems and guides personnel to their solution•Creates a working climate that provides growth and job satisfaction of coworkers•Administers medications and intravenous solutions skillfully and correctly
