Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensures staff demonstrates adequate documentation and are following documentation requirements, policy, and procedure.
- Demonstrates adequate and appropriate documentation in the residents record, follows documentation expectations and policy/procedure.
- Treats residents and their families with respect and dignity. Identifies and addresses psychosocial, cultural, ethnic and religious/spiritual needs of residents and their families.
- Follows direction from DON, maintains a positive professional attitude.
- Ability to adequately assess and reassess pain. Utilizes appropriate pain management techniques. Educates the resident and family regarding pain management. Communicates to medical and IDT any time residents trigger for pain, ensures residents pain is addressed.
- Communicates and initiates care plans for new admissions to staff, residents and families to ensure care planning interventions are effective and followed.
- Provides RN assessments of resident required for admissions, MDS and care planning.
- Organizes workload, completing tasks in a timely manner.
- Performs all aspects of resident care in an environment that optimizes resident safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
- Supports and maintains a culture of safety and quality.
- Exhibits genuine interest in and appreciation of adults in the later years of life. Advocates for the residents of the facility.
- Is a motivated, independent individual who can organize workload so that all functions are completed appropriately.
Regulatory Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Current Registered Nurse licensure in State of New York.
Current BCLS certification.
