Pay range: $30/hr. - $40/hr. based on experience

Hospice nurses provide end of life care to help ensure the comfort and quality of life for their patients. They primarily work in collaborative, team-driven environments that require frequent communication with their patients, families and other caregivers. The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, patient and calm. Hospice nurses are caring and kind individuals who possess a special hospice heart who can help our patients celebrate the rest of their lifes journey.
Responsibilities:
Hours of operation: 9:00am - 7:30pm and every other weekend
Duties and Responsibilities
- Carries primary responsibility for evaluation of all patients referred for hospice services.
- Is able to articulate all components of the organization's continuum of care and refer patients and families to those as necessary.
- Assists referring physicians and/or his/her designated liaison with coordinating a plan of care/treatment for hospice appropriate patients and their families.
- Serves as the liaison between our company and physicians, hospitals, long-term care facilities, and other health care professionals.
- Actively markets, through education, the hospice concept to all health care professionals and providers, as well as the community at large.
Qualifications:
Education/Regulatory Requirements:- RN degree from a college or university, accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing and/or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.
- Registered Nurse currently licensed in the State of Florida.
- BSN preferred
- Hospice certification preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support Certification.
Skills:- Adequate and reliable means of transportation with adequate insurance and valid Florida drivers license.
- One year in public health, home nursing care, oncology nursing, medical/surgical nursing, geriatric nursing or Hospice nursing preferred.
- Understanding of and ability to apply characteristics of Hospice Nursing: case management, crisis intervention, communication skills, teaching skills, thanatology skills and needs
- Basic computer skills and EMR software experience a plus.
Professional Requirements:- Able to communicate effectively with other Hospice care personnel.
- Able to coordinate with other health care providers in the delivery of patient care.
- Able to work effectively with lay and professional volunteers.
Language Skills:- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
