A healthcare network in New York is looking to add an experienced, licensed Registered Nurse (RN) to one of their facilities in Westchester County as their new Assistant Nurse Manager - Labor & Delivery. About the Opportunity:
- Shift: Evenings
- Hours: 10am to 8pm (4 10-hour shifts per week)
- Setting: Inpatient
- Specialty: Labor & Delivery
Responsibilities: The Assistant Nurse Manager - Labor & Delivery will:
- Assure the delivery of quality department /clinical services in accordance with established hospital and regulatory/accreditation agency standards
- Promote a positive and professional image and is a role model, coach, mentor, problem solver and resource for staff and peers
- Maintain 24 hour responsibility for nursing care provided on the unit
- Collaborate with Physicians and other members of the Health Care Team to assure the delivery of optimum age appropriate patient care
- Participate in the development of Evidence based Standards of care for clinical area of responsibility
- Assure employee compliance with hospital and Human Resources policies and procedures
- Assure that employee competency and education requirements are satisfied as per hospital policy
- Develop and submit departmental goals and objectives
- Develop and submit operating and capital budgets and report variances as required
- Assure completion of staff orientation, annual and ongoing competency and education requirements.
- Conduct staff meetings monthly to update staff and/or address department issues and records meeting minutes for all staff
- Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of relevant Acute Care experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
- NYS Registered Nurse (RN) license
- BLS certification
- Experience in a Labor & Delivery role/setting
- Solid assessment, clinical, and documentation skills
- Great interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Strong attention to detail
- Highly organized
Desired Skills
- Certification in area of specialty or Certified Nurse Manager & Leader (CNML)
- ACLS certification
- Previous experience in a Leadership and/or Management role
