Nursing skills and knowledge base specific to specialty. License: State RN license or RN license from a participating state in the Nurse Licensure Compact Certifications: - American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification Must-Have: - Cardiovascular operating room experience - Ability to float within a 60-mile radius - English proficiency (Read, Write, Speak) Job Description: - Take responsibility and accountability for facilitating, communicating, and collaborating with the healthcare team and the patient/family.- Identify and address the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of patients.- Promote optimal health, well-being, and safety through the nursing process according to care standards and guidelines.- Demonstrate personal accountability for relationship-based care, the organization's mission, and core values.- Assess patients' physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs, and evaluate patient responses to interventions to ensure optimal outcomes.- Develop and implement patient care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.- Demonstrate competency in various therapeutic and diagnostic interventions, including IV administration, incision/wound care, medication administration, catheterization, and specimen collections.- Provide patient/family education based on assessed learning needs and readiness, and evaluate the effectiveness of teaching.- Recognize patients or designees as full partners in providing compassionate and coordinated care respecting their preferences, values, and needs.- Provide relationship-based care with respect for cultural differences and human diversity.- Delegate tasks to non-RN personnel in compliance with state nursing board and hospital policy.- Use time, personnel, equipment, and supplies effectively to provide high-quality, cost-efficient care.- Serve as a professional role model demonstrating ethical, legal, and professional nursing processes.- Manage resources and patient flow by matching nursing competencies with individual patient and unit needs.- Use care standards, hospital policies/procedures, and regulatory guidelines to guide practice.- Function effectively within nursing and inter-professional teams, fostering open communication, mutual respect, and shared decision-making to achieve quality patient care.- Precept/mentor new staff or nursing students as needed.- Seek learning opportunities and continuing education to maintain skills and competence in clinical practice.- Maintain professional records as evidence of competency and lifelong learning.- Evaluate personal integrity and nursing practice related to professional standards and guidelines, relevant statutes, rules, and regulations.- Participate in hospital and unit-based meetings, quality improvement, evidence-based practice, and research activities.- Use current healthcare research to expand clinical knowledge, enhance role performance, and increase professional issue awareness.
