It's more than a job: it's caring that starts in the heart.What will I do as a Charge Nurse for The Wesley Community?Support the Health Care Center Administration and promote good-will by interpreting Nursing Service and Facility Policies and Procedures to residents, families, visitors, and personnel.Assist in directing the day-day nursing functions on your unit, in accordance with current rules, regulations and guidelines that govern the long-term care facility.In the absence of the Unit Coordinator handle any unit emergency which may arise.Maintain communications with staff from other shifts to assure continuity of care.Evaluate, plan, and organize nursing care according to established policies by such activities as daily unit rounds, making rounds with physicians, assuring prompt implementation of doctor's orders, assuring informative and pertinent charting, MDS+ completion and reporting as directed by the Unit Coordinator.Charge Nurse Requirements:Graduation from an accredited School of NursingMust have current LPN or RN license in NYS.Supervisory or leadership experience.Rehabilitation nursing experience with geriatric or long-term care preferred.The Wesley Community strives to have its employees be a part of a culture of excellence and to enjoy their work.
