Job Description:

The Registered Nurse is responsible for evaluating patients and assisting physicians with patient care.

  • Plans, implements, and documents nursing care based on patient's needs.
  • Identifies patient needs and determines priorities for care through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
  • Develops, implements and coordinates individualized plan of care for patients assigned through initial and on-going assessments.
  • Initiates assessment based on the patient's problems or needs, the physician's medical diagnosis, and the functional health framework.
  • Performs therapeutic nursing interventions.
  • Manages care of patients.
  • Documents care based on standards of care and practice, patient acuity, and/or clinical priorities.
  • Advocates for evidence-based practice care standards and supports adoption of evidence-based practices and innovations in care delivery.
  • Provides patient centric care in alignment with professional nursing practice model.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

RWJBH HOLIDAY POLICY - Must work 2 of 3 holidays. or 1 of 2 Denote all RTO on submission... 13 week contract. Primary Unit: CVOR. Float: Main OR for primarily Ortho & General cases. On-Call Requirement: on-call 24 hours SAT/SUN (one weekend per month), on-call 8 hour shift 2 weekdays either 3-11 or 11-7 BLS Required. 2.5 Years of OR experience required. Circulate required; Scrub is preferred. Types of Cases/Experience Required: Valve replacement, coronary artery bypass, TAVR, Dissection, transplant, VATs...Main OR: Strong experience in General and Ortho, Standard cardiac (Cabg, AVR, MVR), TAVR, TCAR, TEVAR, Heart transplant, Lung transplant, VATs, VADs Transplant experience (at least heart transplant), Standard Endovascular (TCAR, TEVAR, fistulogram)... Must have, Endovascular, vascular experience (i.e. Endovascular AAA, carotid endarterectomy, arteriogram, angiogram, trans carotid artery revascularization (TCAR), AV fistula, Fem,-Pop bypass). Charting System: EPIC/OR Manager (PICIS). First Time Traveler's Accepted. Scrubs provided.
