+ JOB REQUIREMENTS
+ Education
+ Graduate of an accredited nursing program. Current nursing license, in good standing with the State licensing board. Maintains BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC (ACLS, PALS within 6 months of hire, TNCC within 1 year of hire).
+ Experience
+ One year of medical surgical nursing experience preferred. Cognitive skills as related to the position

+ Occasional sitting, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, and carrying up to 50 lbs. Frequent walking, standing, bending. Lifting 50 lbs or more. Pushing up to 300 lbs. Must be able to see and hear clearly. May face hazards from exposure to chemicals and infectious diseases. In addition, they treat patients that may be confused, irrational, agitated, and/or uncooperative.
+ JOB SUMMARY
+ ED nurses care for people who are sick, injured, convalescent, or disabled. Under general supervision, they deliver care to patients utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation, in accordance with established philosophy. The most important responsibility for an emergency nurse is understanding triage, which is a method of prioritizing injuries based on medical need. An emergency nurse must have the ability to make quick and accurate assessments about incoming patients, including both physical and mental health conditions. Nurses collaborate with other professional disciplines to ensure effective patient care delivery and achievement of desired patient outcomes. Nurses effectively interact with patient and significant others, while maintaining the standard of professional nursing. ED Nurses provide care for patients from various types of illness or trauma requiring emergency attention and must be able to recognize and effectively treat life-threatening conditions.
