Medina Hospital's 3 South General Medicine Unit is a 32-bed unit specializing in general medical surgical care and observation for adult and geriatric patients. 3 South delivers care to various other conditions including pneumonia, diabetes, sepsis, GI bleed, cellulitis, COPD exacerbation, various cancers, kidney stones, and bowel obstructions. This unit also cares for patients undergoing hysterectomies, thyroidectomies, colon resections and appendectomies.
A caregiver in this position works varying shifts from 7:00AM – 7:30PM or 7:00PM – 7:30AM.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Provide direct nursing care.
Implement and monitor patient care plans.
Monitor, record and communicate patients' conditions.
Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
Assess and coordinate patients' discharge needs.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
One-year of current acute care RN experience. Will consider military RN experience.
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Bachelor of science in nursing (BSN).
