Exercise intelligent leadership in the provision of nursing service necessary to support, maintain, and implement departmental objectives under the direction and supervision of the Quality/Compliance Supervisor or Director of Home Health/Hospice.. Provides, arranges for, teaches or supervises nursing care of the home health patient. Carries out nursing skills contributing to the treatment and rehabilitation. Appraises individual and family health needs and hazards - existing or potential. Plans coordinated Home Health service for assigned patients. Carries out treatment, diagnostic and/or preventive procedures, as ordered by the patient's physician.
Job Specifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Currently licensed RN in the state of Illinois by the Illinois Department of Professional Regulation. A minimum of one year's experience is preferred. Must have a valid drivers license if applicable.
JOB KNOWLEDGE:
Comprehensive knowledge and skill in current nursing practice.
General knowledge of current community health principles.
Knowledge of the role of the professional nurse as a team leader and contributing constructive leadership.
The patient populations must be considered when assessing job knowledge required from the employee.

The RN will successfully complete orientation and hospital-wide and department-specific CBL's (computerized based learning). The RN will participate in departmental inservices and will demonstrate competency by completing the service specific competency testing / evaluation process, as appropriate to the RN role. Continuing education programs will be offered to augment the RN's knowledge of pertinent developments in patient care and to foster a performance improvement environment.
