01376 RN House Supervisor STRHS-Lawrenceburg Job Description JOB SUMMARYSupervises daily staff activities for all departments or function.Reports to: Chief Nursing OfficerFLSA: Non-exemptESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSDetermines, coordinates and supervises daily staffing assignments and levels.Provides direction, orientation, training, coaching, and mentoring to staff. Performs or assists withperformance evaluations and disciplinary actions.Assesses and ensures quality of services delivered and facilitates staff development programs. Ensures staff compliance with departmental and organizational policies, procedures, and protocols.Performs staff responsibilities as needed to fulfill required service levels.Leads the handling and resolution of complex issues and complaints.Demonstrates knowledge and application of the nursing processPlans and implements patient care and teaching based on the total assessment and the age of the patient.Develop plan of care that is individualized for the patient needs reflecting collaboration with other members of the healthcare team, the patient, and the family as appropriate.Evaluates and documents the patient response; monitors and recognizes changes in physiological and psychosocial status; taking appropriate action based on the assessment of the patient.Participates and cooperates in the unit-based Quality Improvement process.Supports, maintains, and provides an environment which is supportive of quality patient care based on best practice using a holistic approach to care, and by adhering to effectively using resources and personnel.Practices, develops, and endorses customer service skills in relationships with internal and external customers.Serves as patient and family advocate with respect to the patient's right to privacy, autonomy, and dignity by protecting confidentiality of information.Formulate individualized teaching and educational plan based on identified learning need and evaluate the effectiveness of learning including the patient and family as appropriate.Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meeting, workshops and shows responsibility for own professional practice and ongoing education.NONESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSPerform other duties as assignedAttends and participates in staff meetings, in-service, projects and committees as assigned.Adheres to and supports policies and procedures of STRHS.Maintains a neat and professional appearance in compliance to the existing dress code.May be required to perform duties of the CNA, MA or LPN or other nursing staff on occasionPerform other duties as assigned.Compliance to the STHRS-Lawrenceburg Standards of Performance.Compliance to Dress Code Standards.Maintains regulatory compliance in departmental operations, including, but not limited to, the Joint Commission, CMS, federal financial regulations, and Tennessee state regulations.Maintains competency in skills related to the operation of department and in leadership and management competencies.LEADERSHIP CAPABILITIESDisplays proven leadership attributes with co-workers and colleagues, customers, physicians, and employees. Participates in, and is engaged in, leadership activities that serve employees, such as the Service Excellence Team (SET).Represents the facility in community activities in a positive and professional manner.JOB REQUIREMENTSMinimum EducationMust posses a current and active Registered Nurse License in the State of Tennessee.X Bachelor's degree PreferredRequired SkillsRequires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
