A nonprofit health services network in New York City is actively seeking a new Registered Nurse (RN) to join their team in Brooklyn and work with their Adult population. About the Opportunity:
- Assignment Length: Ongoing
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Hours: 9am to 5pm
- Setting: Residential Facility
- Patient Population: Adults
Responsibilities: The Residential Nurse (RN) will:
- Coordinate and follow through on provisions of health care services for assigned programs
- Arrange medical services for persons served and issue medical referrals, as needed
- Provide follow-up on medical problems for persons served
- Conduct training for staff in medical administration, personal hygiene, basic first aid, dental hygiene, infection control, adaptive equipment, vital signs, signs and symptoms of illness and other in-services as may be necessary to meet needs of persons served
- Monitor required staff health records and provide tests in accordance with regulatory agency requirements
- Provide immediate first aid with referral to outside emergency services or Private Physician
- Participate in routine individual case reviews.
- Prepare & maintain medical documentation on each person served and administer medications, when appropriate
- Provide first aid and attends to emergency needs of persons served
- Transport persons served to appointments, as necessary
- Perform other related duties, as requested
Qualifications:
- 1+ year of related Nursing experience
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- NYS Registered Nurse (RN) license
- CPR certification
- Experience delivering of Community-based Health Services to individuals with Developmental Disabilities
- Solid assessment, clinical, and documentation skills
- Patient oriented
- Great interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong attention to detail
- Highly organized
