Key Responsibilities:

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for laboring ,, including monitoring fetal heart rates, contraction patterns, and maternal vitals.
• Provide patient education and emotional support during labor and delivery, preparing patients for the birth process.
• Administer medications as ordered, including pain management (e.g., epidural anesthesia, IV medications).
• Assist with the delivery process, including providing immediate care to the newborn, such as resuscitation and initial assessments.
• Monitor and manage complications such as high-risk pregnancies, gestational diabetes, preeclampsia, and other obstetric conditions.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement a personalized care plan.
• Prepare and maintain accurate patient records, documenting labor progress, assessments, and interventions.
• Provide postpartum care, including monitoring the physical and emotional well-being of the mother and infant.
• Educate patients and families on post-delivery care, breastfeeding, newborn care, and recovery.
• Respond to emergency situations promptly, utilizing advanced skills to manage maternal or fetal distress.
• Ensure a safe and clean environment, adhering to infection control standards.

Qualifications:

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification required; NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification preferred.
• Experience in Labor and Delivery nursing preferred,
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
