Job Title: Clinical Nurse Job Specialty: Medical-Surgical Nursing Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM (3x12 plus a 4th shift required per month, every other weekend required) Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum of 3 years of recent experience in medical-surgical nursing License: Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS Must-Have: Proficiency with EPIC is highly preferred, excellent organizational skills, and experience in surgical & medical specialties Job Description: - Deliver patient care by incorporating the tenets of the professional practice model of Relationship Centered Care through the nursing process based on theory, research, and evidence-based practice.- Assess and evaluate patient care needs, applying critical thinking skills in patient care management.- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop, implement, and evaluate plans of care.- Educate patients and caregivers about their care plan, health promotion, and disease prevention.- Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, families, and the Interdisciplinary Patient Care Team.- Prioritize all aspects of patient care, including teaching, rounding, coaching, discharge planning, and appropriate delegation.- Role models key actions, such as Admission Welcome, Bedside Shift Report, and Purposeful Hourly Rounding to enhance patient experience.- Implement quality and safety practices to create a safe environment, contributing to compliance measures.- Engage in process improvement strategies and participate in quality improvement projects and nursing research.- Perform charge nurse duties as assigned and coordinate with the nursing management team to ensure resource sufficiency.- Document thoroughly and accurately in compliance with regulatory and legal requirements.- Facilitate patient throughput during shifts to enhance care delivery.- Support the professional development of clinical colleagues.- Participate in shared decision-making through specialty practice councils, committees, and unit initiatives.- Encourage scholarship, inquiry, and continuous learning and advancement in nursing practice.
