Details Client NameThe Mount Sinai Hospital Job TypeTravel OfferingNursing ProfessionRN SpecialtyMS Job ID29421115 Job TitleRN - Med Surg - Contract - MSH Weekly Pay$2181.1 Shift Details ShiftNight - 12x3 - 07PM Scheduled Hours36 Job Order Details Start Date01/06/2025 End Date04/05/2025 Duration13 Week(s) Job Description Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty: Medical Surgical - Emergency Department Job Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM (3x12 + 4th shift required per month, every other weekend required) Guaranteed Hours: 34.50 Hours per Week Experience: Minimum 2 years of hospital MS/Tele experience License: Valid Nursing License Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) Must-Have: - 2 years of RN experience- Clinical experience in medicine- EPIC experience highly preferred- Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred; Associate degree considered with relevant experience and/or active enrollment in a BSN Program Job Description: - Deliver patient care by incorporating the tenets of the professional practice model of Relationship-Centered Care through the nursing process based on theory, research, evidence-based practice, and organizational standards.- Assess and evaluate patient care needs, utilizing critical thinking skills in patient care management.- Integrate relevant assessment and intervention skills in the delivery of nursing care.- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the plan of care.- Prioritize all aspects of patient care, including teaching, rounding, coaching, planning after-hospital care, and delegating tasks appropriately.- Educate patients and caregivers about their care plan, transitions, promotion of health, and disease prevention.- Effectively communicate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.- Manage assignments within the Care Delivery Model and demonstrate effective resource allocation.- Role model the tenets of Relationship-Centered Care and facilitate key actions like Admission Welcome, Bedside Shift Report, and Purposeful Hourly Rounding.- Establish and maintain therapeutic relationships with patients and families.- Use evidence-based practices to understand patients' perceptions of care and initiate service recovery as needed.- Demonstrate respect, compassion, empathy, and active listening in interactions.- Conduct Purposeful Hourly Rounding (PHR) to address patient needs.- Practice safe and efficient patient-centered care and identify opportunities for improvement.- Implement process improvement strategies and collaborate on quality improvement projects and research.- Engage in peer and institutional reviews, contributing to quality and safety practices.- Utilize institutional information technology to document nursing practice and support quality initiatives.- Perform charge nurse duties, coordinate with management for resource availability, and facilitate patient throughput.- Contribute to the environment of care by supporting colleagues and patients.- Advance clinical competence and project a professional image to colleagues.- Encourage lifelong learning, scholarship, and innovation for self and others.- Participate in shared decision-making through specialty practice councils and committees.
