Job Summary:

• Provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope andstandards of practice.

Job Duties:

• Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinicaltreatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
• Documents patient care given.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, andfamily.
• Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, andambulation.
• Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge,referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
• Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age,culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
• Observes central monitor screens, interprets, recognizes and records changes in patient's rhythms andnotifies nurse/physician as appropriate.
• Handle with Care participation annually or CPI participation every 2 years.

Job Requirements:

• Minimum EducationAssociate Degree, Bachelor Degree or RN Diploma required.
• Required SkillsRequires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must beable to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.American Heart Association or American Red Cross Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required upon hireor must be obtained within 90 days of employment, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), PediatricAdvanced Life Support (PALS) required within 6 months of employment.License: Current TN or Multi-State RN licensure
• Minimum Work ExperienceSix months to one year experience as RN. New Graduates will be considered.
