Shift: Night Shift (1900-0730)
Position Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Medical-Surgical unit in Albany, NY, for a 13-week contract. The RN will provide high-quality care to patients with a wide range of medical conditions, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout their stay. This position requires a compassionate individual who can thrive in a fast-paced environment and work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to adult patients in the Medical-Surgical unit.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
- Administer medications, treatments, and procedures as prescribed.
- Monitor patient conditions, recognize changes, and respond appropriately to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records using the facility's charting system.
- Educate patients and their families on health conditions, treatment plans, and post-discharge care.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide coordinated and effective care.
- Ensure adherence to hospital policies, procedures, and protocols, including infection control and patient safety standards.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with best practices in medical-surgical nursing.
Qualifications:
- Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.
- Licensure: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of New York.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in a Medical-Surgical unit.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
- Skills: Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) systems, excellent communication and critical thinking skills, ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Special Requirements:
- Must be able to work the night shift from 1900 to 0730.
- Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and comply with any additional facility-specific requirements.
- Ability to adapt to a high-acuity environment and manage multiple priorities.
