DetailsClient Name Mount Sinai West Job Type Travel Offering Nursing Profession RN Specialty Mother Baby Job ID 29655559 Job Title RN - Mother Baby - Contract - MSH Weekly Pay $2695.81 Shift DetailsShift Day - 11.5x3 - 07AM Scheduled Hours 34 Job Order DetailsStart Date 01/07/2025 End Date 04/05/2025 Duration 13 Week(s) Job Description Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty: Mother Baby Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Shift, 7 AM - 7:30 PM, every other weekend is required Guaranteed Hours: 34.5 hours per week Experience: Minimum of 2 years in postpartum, antepartum; 1-year travel experience preferred for travel positions License: NYS RN License Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) Must-Have: - Experience with AP/PP, Labor & Delivery, and Newborn Nursery - Experience with Magnesium Sulfate - EPIC experience is highly preferred - Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required Job Description: - Provide safe, competent, quality care based on nursing theory and research to patients and significant others. - Incorporate the tenets of professional practice through the application of nursing processes based on theory, evidence-based practice, and approved standards. - Assess and evaluate patient care needs, applying critical thinking skills. - Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop, implement, and evaluate care plans. - Prioritize patient care, including teaching, rounding, coaching, and planning for after-hospital care. - Educate patients and caregivers about care plans, health promotion, and disease prevention. - Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, family, and healthcare team members. - Manage assignments within the Modified Primary Nursing model and demonstrate effective resource allocation. - Model Relationship Centered Care and facilitate care team activities, such as admission welcomes and hourly rounding. - Establish and maintain therapeutic relationships with patients and families. - Use evidence-based practices to understand patient perceptions of care. - Initiate service recovery for patients and escalate concerns as needed. - Practice safe, efficient patient-centered care, identifying and escalating opportunities for improvement. - Implement process improvement strategies and engage in peer review processes. - Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for quality improvement and nursing research studies. - Perform charge nurse duties as assigned, ensuring appropriate supply utilization and inventory sufficiency. - Contribute to the clinical environment to support patients, families, and healthcare team members. - Advance clinical competence and encourage a spirit of scholarship and life-long learning. - Participate in shared decision-making through specialty practice councils and nursing department initiatives.
