The role includes assessing nursing care needs, evaluating care effectiveness, and applying nursing theory in clinical practice. It involves using clinical expertise to ensure safe patient outcomes through ongoing assessments. The role requires a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) to collaborate with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES(include but are not limited to the following)Coordinating patient care across multidisciplinary team settings.Adapting to new methods, technologies, and approaches in healthcare.Ensuring a positive patient experience by addressing and resolving concerns.Developing tailored care plans using critical thinking, considering patient condition, age, and psychosocial factors.Applying technical expertise to solve problems and serving as a resource and role model for staff.QualificationsEDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCECurrent license as a registered nurse issued by the State of Iowa or is eligible for reciprocity or has a work permit issued by the State of Iowa2-3 years experience as an operating nurse, preferredExperience as a nurse providing perioperative care, preferredAbility to demonstrate clinical competence and maintain current knowledge in caring for pediatric to geriatric patients.BLS certificationFor RN staff working in the Operating Room Suites, Endoscopy Suites and Post Anesthesia Care Unit the following is also required:ACLS certified or willingness to complete within 1 year of hire.PALS certified or willingness to complete within 1 year of hireSKILLS AND ABILITIESDemonstrates teamwork by working cooperatively with others on a team both internally within the department assigned and outside departments.Manages change by showing the ability to demonstrate support for innovation and for organizational changes needed for performance improvement.Demonstrates a consistent positive customer experience on a daily basisDemonstrates critical and analytical thinking skills by a logical, systematic, sequential approach.Demonstrates clinical and technical expertise in their area of licensure, certification or experienced area.Competent in the theory and application in the care of the principles of the patient presenting for surgical or procedural careCompetent in the use of complex equipment found in the perioperative services area to include but not limited to; cautery, electric table, video equipment, scopes, airway equipment and suction equipment.Strong written and verbal communication skills with prevalent professional demeanorAbility to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentationSupports and drives goals of the CompanyHigh ethical standardsHighly motivatedAbility to work in fast paced, rapidly changing, and regulated environmentDisplay knowledge of care required by infants, toddlers, pre-schoolers, school age, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
