Enjoy a Monday through Friday schedule with no weekends, holidays, or on-call requirements.Receive a $5,000 sign-on bonus offer when you apply and start by October 10th!General DescriptionThe Pre-op/PACU RN will assist in providing high quality care during the pre-op and post-op phase of the patient's visit.ResponsibilitiesAssess, instruct & prepare patients prior to surgery;Ensure that operative and informed consents are signed and correct;Take and record vital statistics of patients to ensure readiness for surgical procedure;Assess patients' post-operative condition;Monitor vital signs and other measurements of progress to ensure patient is meeting discharge criteria;Document all findings in patient files;Answer patient questions to ensure patient comfort;Monitor patients for condition changes, report any changes to physician;Perform intervention duties during post-operative emergencies;Gather pertinent medical history and provide concise instruction for pre-operative and post-operative care;Other responsibilities as needed/assigned.QualificationsCurrent unrestricted NYS RN license;Minimum of 2 years previous PACU or critical care experience required;Ability to effectively communicate with providers, patients and peers;Candidate must demonstrate aptitude for maintaining pace of abbreviated patient encounters, keeping flow to reasonable time frame in post-operative care;Specialized knowledge, skill and abilities in perioperative nursing;Capable of decision making when applicable.Other InformationAbility to travel to various OrthoNY locations if needed.
