Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty: Chemo/Infusion - Oncology Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 9-hour Days Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum 1 year in Chemotherapy infusion License: Valid RN license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, Biotherapy certification Must-Have: IV start skills, central line dressing changes and accessing skills, punctuality, and openness to first-time travel assignments Job Description: - Manage a unit with 10 chemo chairs and 6 infusion/iron chairs- Handle approximately 30-35 iron infusions and 12-19 chemo infusions per day- Maintain a nurse to patient ratio averaging 6 patients throughout the day- Conduct common infusions including chemotherapy, blood products, iron, hydration, biologics, GI, and rheumatology infusions- Perform IV starts, access central lines, and conduct central line dressing changes- Oversee therapeutic phlebotomy and lab draws with assistance from Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) and lab staff - Utilize the AllScripts EMR system for charting and documentation- Participate in a general facility orientation, two weeks of training with an educator/preceptors, and ongoing education for new drugs and procedures- Work four 10-hour shifts per week, with self-scheduling for the day off and balance managed by the supervisor- No weekend, holiday, or on-call requirements- Wear royal blue scrubs Additional notes: The facility offers an accommodating environment for both seasoned nurses and those new to travel positions, providing a supportive team structure with experienced staff.
