Unit NotesDepartment: ICU RN*Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS***WILL NOT APPROVE BLOCKED SCHEDULING OR SAME SCHEDULE/SHIFTS, MUST BE FLEXIBLE AND WILLING TO FLOAT AND WORK WHEN NEEDED***- # of Beds: 33 beds, average daily census is 16- Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:2-3 for adults, 1:2-4 for Peds- Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Adults and Pediatrics, sepsis, post-stent, pacemaker placement, stroke, vascular cases, renal failure, heart failure, respiratory distress- Are RNs required to titrate drips?: Yes- Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Any cardiac drip, insulin, sedation - Are there nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit? Ratios? Duties?: Health Support Tech M-F 0800-1630- RT Equipment (Vents, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, etc.) Are RNs required to do anything with these besides trouble shoot?: Nasal cannula to vent- Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors?: RNs required to read and interpret- Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?): 0630-1830, 1830-0630 // Self scheduling for core staff, travelers added in. Unable to guarantee block scheduling- Weekend Requirements: Every other- Holiday Requirements: Rotating based on weekend group- Floating Requirements: Typically to PCU, possibly to MedSurg- How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation?: 3 shiftsRadius Rule: 50 miles AND candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity.RTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13 week contract).
