Job DescriptionOverviewRiverSpring Living is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our dynamic team of professionals at our skilled nursing facility at the Hebrew Home at Riverdale!The Hebrew Home at Riverdale by RiverSpring Living, a world-renowned long-term care organization located in Riverdale – North Bronx, serves over 18,000 older adults every day, both in the greater New York community and on our beautiful 32-acre campus overlooking the Hudson River. RiverSpring Living provides a full range of care solutions including nursing home care, managed long term care, assisted living programs, senior housing, rehabilitation services and specialized services such as elder abuse prevention and memory care.The Registered Nurse is responsible for providing direct nursing care to residents and to assist the day-to-day activities performed by the licensed practical nurse and the certified nurse's aides. Day Shift Hours : 7:00am – 3:00pm, including weekends and weekdays. Compensation: $58.6359 Hourly Responsibilities Work Leader
- This position has work leader responsibilities which include planning, assigning, scheduling and reviewing work assignments. The Registered Nurse supervises employees including LPN, GCT and CNA who report directly to the Registered Nurse.
Operations
- Ensures that all nursing staff are following their respective job descriptions including proper dress code.
- Plans, assigns, schedules and reviews work assignments for nursing staff.
- Participates in survey (inspections) made by authorized agencies
- Reviews complaints and grievances made or filed by staff. Makes appropriate reports to the Nursing Manager/charge nurse as required or as may be necessary.
- Ensures that staff participates in and conducts all fire safety and disaster preparedness drills in a safe and professional manner.
- Encourages attending physicians to review treatment plans, record and sign their orders, progress notes, etc. in accordance with established policies.
- Signs off physician's orders in EMR as per policy and procedure.
Clinical
- Performs duties such as completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, charting, etc. as necessary
- Ensures that narcotic records are accurate for each shift and notifies the Nurse Manager of discrepancies.
- Reviews medication administration records for completeness of information, accuracy in the transcription of the physician's orders and adherence to stop order policies.
- Makes daily rounds of the unit to ensure that staff are performing their work assignments in accordance with acceptable nursing standards. Reports problem areas to the Nurse Manager /charge nurse.
- Reviews periodically resident's comprehensive written care and discharge plans. Participates in the updating of the resident's medical records.
- Admits, transfers and discharges residents as required
- Completes accident/incident reports and writes in the nursing progress notes accident/incident involving the resident in accordance with established procedures.
- Signs and dates all entries made in the resident's clinical record. Charts nurses' notes in an informative and descriptive manner that reflects the care provided to the resident as well as the resident's response to the care, resident's admission, transfer and/or discharge.

Residents and Relations & Support
- Cooperates with other resident's services departments when coordinating nursing services to ensure that the resident's total regimen of care is maintained.
- Monitors nursing care to assure that all residents are treated fairly and with kindness, dignity and respect.
- Ensures a safe and healthy living environment for all residents.
- Undertakes resident/family teaching for self-care and continuity of care.
Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Nursing required, Bachelor of Science in nursing preferred.
- Valid New York State License as a Registered Nurse (RN) required
- Knowledge of current standards and practices in nursing.
- Supervisory experience preferred
Compensation:
- Sign on bonus of $10,000 ($5,000 at end of Six (6) Months and $5,000 on (1) One year Anniversary, less applicable taxes).
- $58.6359 hourly
- This position is part of the 1199 SEIU Bargaining Unit and is eligible for 1199 SEIU Benefits & Pension
