Qualifications and requirements
Applicants should have a current state RN license or a current multistate compact license and possess a bachelor's degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:
Minimum Work Experience
1 year or more experience in an acute care setting preferred.
Required Certifications/Skill
Current American Heart Association BLS Certification (or) obtained within 90 days after hire date.
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Language Skills: Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
Department/Unit Summary
18 Bed, 1:6 Ratio
10–14-day LOS, see patients recover and get better, usually return home to their prior status. Lots of therapy staff is present on the unit to assist with ADLs. Patients receive 3 hours of therapy per day every day.
Option for full time RNs to work only every 6th weekend, no mandatory overtime (3 shift per week only). Extremely flexible scheduling options. Provider coverage on unit to provide nursing support 24/7. Admissions and discharges are planned well in advance so it is much less turnover for patients than an inpatient setting.
