Job Description:
The Telephonic Triage RN triages incoming and outgoingcustomer service programs, assessing the caller's needs and symptoms, providingappropriate clinical and administrative advice, and following appropriateclinical protocols to assist the caller. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Applies professional skills and knowledge of establishedconcepts, principles, and practice to provide telephonic nursing services including,but not limited to, health information, health education, healthcareassessment, and triage
  • Conducts thorough and sound nursing assessments of thecallers' presenting symptoms
  • Develops, implements, and evaluates a plan of care for eachcaller's presenting symptoms
  • Applies nursing process to identify and prioritizehealthcare triage interventions that are appropriate, accurate, effective, andreduce the risk of adverse outcomes
  • Follows policies and procedure to document call inquiries
  • Answers calls in a timely manner per protocol
  • Maintains confidentiality of callers and their personalissues following HIPAA guidelines
  • Interacts with callers and other staff in a polite andcourteous manner
  • Performs other duties as assigned/necessary
Minimum Requirements:
  • Current Registered Nurse license for the state of practice
  • One year of prior professional nursing experience preferred
  • One year of Registered Nurse experience preferred
  • Complies with all relevant professional standards ofpractice
  • Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency programwhen applicable
  • Current CPR if applicable (not applicable if fully remote)
  • TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
  • Current Health certificate (per contract or stateregulation)
  • Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
  • Successful completion of new hire training as applicable tojob site
  • Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAArequirements
  • Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to andfrom appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors,co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in theEnglish language is required
  • Computer proficiency required
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
