Road Maintenance Crew (AmeriCorps)
Job description: Maintenance of highways, retention ponds and outfall ditches, municipal and rural roads, and rights-of-way. Duties include mowing, edging, sweeping, litter removal, brush removal, tree removal, sign washing, and occasional fencing and guardrail repair. On the job training aimed towards teaching young adults new skills. Ages 18-35 preferred but not exclusive. AmeriCorps Education Awards available for eligible candidates from 675- and 900-hour terms. Award amounts range from $2800-6900 applicable to accredited institutions or loans Qualifications: No experience necessary Must be willing to work outside in Florida weather conditions Benefits: Certifications following relevant on the job training Health insurance incentive bonus Simple IRA retirement plan.
