You will be responsible for managing and delivering successful projects in the transportation business.Your OpportunityStantec is seeking a highly motivated Project Manager - Transportation with roadway design experience to work alongside our other transportation engineering professionals in a collaborative environment to help grow and mentor our younger professionals and deliver projects with the high quality our clients have come to expect. The successful candidate will lead and/or participate on project teams in the development and delivery of designs for transportation projects.Your Key ResponsibilitiesProject Management:Comprehensive Project Management and control of all aspects of assigned projects to achieve the client's prescribed scope, time, cost and quality objectives through the application of formal project management process, techniques, and procedures.Plan, execute, and control the project through all phases from proposal preparation, project kick-off, preliminary design/definition, detailed design, tendering, construction, contract administration and validation.Directing and coordinating the efforts of a multi-disciplinary team (internal staff, external consultants, contractors and suppliers), while ensuring the quality of design to achieve the Client's objectives consistent with the scope of services to be provided.Responsible and accountable for ensuring that the required functions of the project are satisfactorily performed.Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.Actively participates in projects to maintain personal utilization targets.Business Development:Contributes to the development and execution of the business strategy for the Transportation business in the North Central.Leads and coordinates business development activities (account management, proposal preparation, business development meetings, client surveys, etc.) with a core group of engineering professionals.Sustains and grows revenue within the BC through successful business development, project delivery, and achieving key performance metric.Leadership:Assists with staff development, providing input and recommendations related to staff needs, performance and remuneration.Building a strong culture of quality design and teamwork.Leads by example, encourages innovation, and provides opportunity to staff.Consistently demonstrates a commitment to the Health and Safety culture.Other duties as required and assigned.QualificationsYour Capabilities and Credentials:Strong understanding of the Transportation consulting business.Entrepreneurial orientation with understanding of the business development challenges of a consulting services provider.Strong business development skills, including significant experience building and maintaining productive relationships with a client base.Experience with responding to Requests for Proposals, Expression of Interests, Statement of Qualifications.Proven ability to effectively lead, challenge, and inspire staff to work together cohesively as a team.Demonstrated ability to champion both technical and customer service excellence with conviction and purpose.Ability to organize and prioritize work to meet multiple and varied deadlines.Strong written, verbal, analytical and interpersonal skills.Possess the highest degree of integrity.Education and Experience:Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Civil Engineering.Minimum of ten (10) years of progressive engineering and project management experience in transportation projects.
