- Developing and debug programs for factory CNC machines such as brake presses, panel benders and robotics cells
- Train bending center technicians and operators as required
- Reviewing part drawings and determine feasibility of manufacturing and the proper cell for manufacturing
- Maintaining database of existing component programs
- Evaluating and select tooling required for bending operations and manufacturing centers
- Understanding Industry best practices for bending cell programming and create an environment of continuous improvement
- Programing and Debugging PLC's, HMI's, data acquisition systems, servos and motion control systems, Automated Vision Inspection Systems, Industry 4.0 devices
- Programing and Debugging ABB and Yaskawa robots and vision inspection systems
- Becoming familiar with analytical statistical methods, validation protocols, PFMEA's, control plans and RCA Methods
- Developing experience with ANSI, NFPA and OSHA safety standards for industrial control systems
- Learning control panel layouts, schematics, wiring diagrams and power distribution
Requirements
- MS/BS in Engineering preferred. In lieu of a MS/BS degree, candidates who have the following will be considered:
- AS in Engineering + 3 yrs. of programming experience with Robotics bending centers
- No degree and 5+ yrs. of programming experience with Robotics bending centers
- Ability to read mechanical drawings and prints
- Ability to develop and debug new programs for robotic bending centers
- Knowledge of traditional Press brake & Robotic bending techniques, programming, controller functions, and troubleshooting techniques, as well as ability to train technicians
- Knowledge of Salvagnini, Amada or Trumpf software
- Experience programming Yaskawa, Fanuc, ABB or Epson robots
- Familiarity with 3-D modeling software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD Inventor
- Ability to work independently and use judgment to determine product problems without direct supervision
- Good communication skills, ability to work in a high-pressure environment, analytical ability, interpersonal skills, detail oriented, strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask
- Familiar with standard PC software such as MS Office
