Our client is a fast growing on-demand garment printing company in the eCommerce fulfillment industry in San Jose. They are now seeking a few full-time Robotics Engineers to join their team onsite (M-F) in San Jose, reporting to the Technical Project Manager and Lead Robotic Engineer. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in robotics, automation, and warehouse management systems. This role will involve designing, developing, and implementing robotic systems to improve efficiency, accuracy, and productivity in warehouse operations.
Responsibilities
- Design and Development: Create and develop robotic systems for warehouse automation, including AGVs (Automated Guided Vehicles), robotic arms, and conveyor systems.
- Programming and Integration: Write, test, and debug software for controlling robotic systems. Integrate robotics with warehouse management systems (WMS) and other IT infrastructure.
- Prototyping and Testing: Build prototypes and conduct tests to validate designs. Analyze test results and make necessary modifications to improve performance and reliability.
- Installation and Maintenance: Oversee the installation of robotic systems in warehouse settings. Perform regular maintenance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal functionality.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve warehouse operations through automation. Develop and implement solutions to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and minimize errors.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including warehouse managers, IT staff, and supply chain specialists, to ensure seamless integration and operation of robotic systems.
- Documentation and Training: Document designs, processes, and procedures. Provide training and support to warehouse staff on the use and maintenance of robotic systems.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure all robotic systems comply with relevant safety standards and regulations. Implement safety protocols to protect workers and equipment.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of experience in robotics engineering, with a focus on warehouse automation. Experience with AGVs, robotic arms, and conveyor systems is highly desirable.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, and ROS (Robot Operating System). Familiarity with PLC programming, CAD software, and simulation tools.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to troubleshoot complex systems and implement effective solutions.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
- Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing technologies and evolving business needs. Willingness to continuously learn and improve technical skills.
