Join us!Job DescriptionReporting to the Production Supervisor, the Rolling Mill operator is key in assisting with meeting the department's goals by performing machine set-up, maintaining quality standards, meeting daily production targets, and troubleshooting equipment when required.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesThe Rolling Mill Operator is responsible for coil handling which involves removing coils from skids, loading coals to the payoff, and measuring gauge and width if the material with measuring devices.Set up the designated Rolling Mill including interpreting process sheets, setting machine parameters, and using lubrication.Adjust and correct machine set-ups to reduce thicknesses, reshape products, and eliminate product defects.Operate the machine while adhering to quality parameters and in-process checksMonitor machine cycles and mill operation to detect jamming and to ensure that products conform to specifications.Examine, inspect, and measure raw materials and finished products to verify conformance to specifications.Read Rolling Mill orders, blueprints, and mill schedule to determine setup specifications, work sequences, product dimensions, and installation procedures.Manipulate controls and observe dial indicators in order to monitor, adjust and regulate speeds of machine mechanisms.Set distance points between rolls, guides, meters, and stops, according to specifications.Thread or feed sheets through rolling mechanisms or starts and controls mechanisms that automatically feeds steel into rollers.Perform data entry into the SAP software systemRequirementsAt least 1+ years of previous manufacturing experience requiredExperience with performing multiple complex set ups.High school diploma or equivalentTechnical training is preferred but not requiredExperience in a metals industrial setting preferredExperience in use of micrometers and other precision measurement tools required.Previous Rolling mill machine operating preferredAbility to read, analyze, and interpret reports, manuals, technical proceduresMaterion Corporation and its subsidiaries (the “Company”) is an equal employment opportunity employer.
