Job Summary:Ladgov Corporation is looking for a Roman Catholic Priest to perform within Langley AFB, VA
Scope of Responsibilities: The candidate shall provide religious and spiritual leadership to meet the needs of Roman Catholic military personnel, their family members and other authorized personnel at Joint Base Langley-Eustis at the below listed locations. The candidate shall support individual rights under the First Amendment to the US Constitution and provide an opportunity for the free exercise of their religious beliefs.
General Responsibilities: The Roman Catholic Priest:
- Will often be required to work weekends and on holidays to complete all Roman Catholic religious support services for wing.
- Comply with all Federal, State, and Local Laws and requirements as well as with any Air Force Instructions, which are found to apply to this position.
- Conform to all Air Force Chaplain Corps policies and guidance.
- The candidate shall coordinate efforts with Chaplain Corps personnel and work in a multi-denominational and pluralistic religious environment to include, but not limited to, Roman Catholic, Protestant, Jewish, Orthodox, and Islamic faiths. The candidate shall provide all services in accordance with (IAW) the Roman Catholic AMS requirements.
Specific Responsibilities: In the performance of responsibilities, the candidate shall meet the following requirements:
- Arrive no less than fifteen (15) minutes prior to the Mass or service and not depart until all sacred and sacramental vessels and vestments are properly cleaned and stored.
- Keep within the Guidelines for Worship as prescribed by the US Roman Catholic Conference of Catholic Bishops and AMS.
- Observe the guidelines and directives disseminated by the Joint Base Senior Chaplain or his/her designee.
- Shall adhere to all pandemic guidance disseminated by the Joint Base Langley Eustis. Current guidance can be found here:
- Be appropriately professionally dressed as directed by the Canon Law of the Roman Catholic Church, i.e., appropriate clerical attire when performing sacramental and ministerial duties. Maintain model decorum with special attention to dress and conduct that is appropriate for religious services and programs. The Chaplain's office will provide outer garments to perform Catholic services.
- The candidate may not perform any ministry without the delegation or explicit permission of the Joint Base Senior Chaplain or his/her designee. The candidate is not the equivalent of a vicar or associate pastor in a civilian parish.
Requirements:- The candidate shall be a Roman Catholic Priest in good standing with his home diocese and the Archdiocese for the Military Services (AMS).
- Appropriate documentation shall include, at a minimum, a letter of good standing with their diocese. Provided at the time all of the documents are submitted with the price quote.
