Position Summary:
Join our dynamic team at MIU's Regenerative Organic Agriculture Program (ROAP) Farm, to play a vital role in contributing to the local food system by cultivating organic produce for the community. As a Farm Attendant, you'll engage in various activities, from planting and harvesting to operating irrigation systems and distributing farm produce.

Job Responsibilities:
* Execute precise and efficient harvesting techniques to ensure the quality and freshness of our organically grown vegetables.
* Demonstrate a keen understanding of crop maturity, proper harvesting methods, and gentle handling to preserve crop integrity.
* Meticulously wash, clean, and sanitize harvested vegetables, adhering to food safety standards.
* Utilize cutting-edge packaging techniques to present our farm-fresh produce in an aesthetically pleasing and market-ready manner.
* Engage in ongoing learning and training to stay abreast of industry best practices in sustainable agriculture.
* Collaborate with farm team members to ensure smooth farm operations.
* Maintain a pristine and organized work environment within the farm shop, ensuring cleanliness, orderliness, and compliance with food safety protocols.
* Safeguard equipment and tools through regular maintenance and cleaning procedures.
* Ensure that washroom equipment is clean and sanitized.
* Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
* Passion for sustainable agriculture and a genuine interest in contributing to the local food movement.
* Eagerness to get hands dirty and contribute to the farm's overall productivity and effectiveness.
* Manual dexterity and coordination skills are desired for performing farm tasks effectively.
* Ability to work in various weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks with enthusiasm and dedication.
* Strong communication and active listening skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
* Enrolled in relevant agricultural or environmental classes is a plus.
* Prior work-related skills are a plus, but not necessary. Comprehensive on-the-job training is provided.
