SUMMARY: Performs new installation, minor repairs or rebuilds of equipment. Performs preventative maintenance on all equipment. Must be able to respond to emergency maintenance requests and calls. Maintain an excellent safety record, housekeeping and personal conduct. Good interpersonal skills, highly proficient in use of general hand tools and power tools. Perform safe work practices or accepted industry standards of safe work. A Team player and self-starter who can properly plan and execute work.

Maintain accurate and timely work records, complete paperwork daily.

General upkeep of all tools and equipment used by maintenance staff to perform work at facilities.

Develop a collaborative relationship with all departments.

Demonstrates knowledge of basic physical/mechanical principles and craft math

General upkeep of all tools and equipment used by staff.

Proficient in General work involving hand tools, power tools, torqueing equipment.

Participate in reliability programs, predictive maintenance programs, Management of Change process.

Basic understanding of characteristics of metals and knowledgeable about the various types and application of lubricants.

Understands bearings, seals, compressors, pumps, pipe configurations, shaft packing and drive systems.

Must be able to interpret P&IDS, drawings, schematics, cut sheets, pump and blower curves.

PROFICIENCIES:

Coupling Alignment- laser or dial measurement

Couplers- shim pack, jaw type, elastomeric, etc.

Pumps ANSI /API centrifugal, diaphragm, positive displacement

Valves- gate, globe, ball, butterfly, etc.

Gear boxes

Fans & Blowers Centrifugal, Lobe, etc.

Seals- Labyrinth, Lip, Mechanical, Rope Packing, etc.

Precision measurement tools

Crane and Hoist operation pneumatic, electric

Coolers tube & shell, plate frame, fin fan, etc.

Agitators & Mixers shear, prop, shaker, etc

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Degree from tech school or college is preferred or minimum of 0-3 years related field experience. Have a strong background in trouble shooting, maintenance and repair of various rotating equipment with construction knowledge gained through work experience or tech school training. Possess the ability to read, write, comprehend instruction and work orders in English. Have basic computer skills, maintain good records associated with various jobs.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance. Must be able to work with all types of electrical equipment and tools.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in inclement weather conditions with various hours of the day/night. Is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, risk of electrical shock and vibration. The duties of this job require a person to stoop, bend, work from a kneeling position, climb ladders and work in high areas up to 130 feet, work in dark areas and work in confined spaces after being trained to do so. The noise level in the work environment is occasionally loud. Must be able to wear respiratory protective equipment.

NORMAL WORK HOURS: The hours and days of work are established by departmental needs and at the discretion of management. On occasion, special circumstances arise where hours and shifts will change on a per needed basis. Overtime may be required on an as needed basis. On-call will be a must after the 90-days training period.
