Job Description: Route/Switch Network Engineer Level 2/3Position: Route/Switch Network Engineer Level 2/3Location: Allentown or Windsor, PA (within 1-hour commute)Contract Type: 6-Month Contract to HireJob Overview:We are seeking a skilled and dynamic Route/Switch Network Engineer to join our team for a 6-month contract with the potential to convert to a full-time position. In this role, you will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing the network infrastructure of a medium to large-scale enterprise environment. You will work closely with the engineering and IT teams to ensure the stability, security, and performance of network systems.Key Responsibilities:•Configure, troubleshoot, and support routing and switching within enterprise-level networks, primarily Cisco.•Work with various network protocols including BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP to optimize performance.•Manage ACI (Application Centric Infrastructure), SD-WAN (Software-Defined WAN), DNAC (DNA Center), and ISE (Identity Services Engine).•Administer Firewalls (FW), Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), and ensure proper DNS/DHCP management.•Perform network security functions, including Internet/DMZ setups, Palo Alto firewall management, and wireless network optimization.•Contribute to network design and architecture projects to improve efficiency and scalability.•Provide Level 2/3 support for escalated network incidents and troubleshooting, collaborating with other IT teams to resolve complex issues.•Monitor and maintain network performance metrics to ensure optimal system uptime and reliability.•Assist with the documentation of network configurations, procedures, and best practices.Skills & Experience:•Required:•Hands-on experience with routing and switching in medium to large enterprise networks (Cisco preferred).•Strong understanding of key networking protocols and services, including routing (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP), switching, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and security (Firewall/IDS).•Experience with ACI, SDWAN, DNAC, and ISE.•Practical knowledge of Palo Alto Firewalls, Azure, and wireless network solutions.•Familiarity with Internet/DMZ architectures.•Basic experience with network design and architecture.•Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.•Preferred:•Previous experience with large-scale network management and troubleshooting.•Familiarity with advanced network security measures and protocols.Additional Information:•Work Environment: Collaborative, fast-paced, and evolving enterprise network environment.•Location Requirement: Candidate must reside within 1 hour of Allentown or Windsor, PA, to be available for occasional on-site work or troubleshooting.•Contract-to-Hire: After the initial 6-month contract, the position has the potential to convert to a full-time role
