Piper Companies is seeking a skilled and experienced Route/Switch Network Engineer to join our client's team in San Antonio, Texas. This position will support a major healthcare organization within the Department of Defense, providing critical network engineering services. Our client is a leading global technology company known for its innovative solutions and commitment to excellence, providing a dynamic and collaborative work environment.Responsibilities for the Route/Switch Network Engineer:
- Design, implement, and manage complex network solutions, focusing on routing and switching technologies.
- Configure and maintain network devices, including iOS XE, EIGRP, BGP, OSPF, Spanning Tree, and IPv6.
- Conduct network assessments to inventory, evaluate, and recommend upgrades or replacements for existing infrastructure.
- Collaborate with third-party vendors and partners to establish network baselines and ensure optimal performance.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for network-related issues.
- Document network configurations, changes, and procedures.
- Ensure network security and compliance with DoD standards and regulations.
Qualifications for the Route/Switch Network Engineer:
- Must be a US Citizen due to the client supported
- Onsite in San Antonio, Texas, 5 days a week.
- Strong expertise in routing and switching technologies, including iOS XE, EIGRP, BGP, OSPF, Spanning Tree, and IPv6.
- Experience with iOS XR is a plus.
- Proven experience in network design, implementation, and management.
Compensation/Benefits for the Route/Switch Network Engineer:
- Salary: $140,000 - $180,000
- 20 days of PTO and 11 Federal Holidays, Sick Leave as Required by Law
- Long-Term Multi-Year Consulting Engagement
