It requires effective internal and external communication, adaptability in a dynamic environment, and proficiency in logistics software. Key responsibilities include ensuring high customer satisfaction, managing stress in a high-pressure setting, and handling computer-based tasks efficiently. The role operates within union environments and integrates advanced technologies in distribution operations.ResponsibilitiesOrder Routing and Logistics Optimization •Efficiently manage and optimize daily order routes. •Ensure timely deliveries and high customer satisfaction. •Develop and execute customized routing strategies for various scenarios. •Coordinate with management for cost-effective and efficient routing. •Perform interviews with drivers to gain insights on route sequencing and efficiency.Maintain Operational Data Integrity •Maintain up-to-date and precise customer data and delivery options. •Guarantee precise delivery tracking by ensuring accurate geofencing for all customers. •Ensure backroom processes are efficiently managed. •Keep driver and route statistics accurately recorded. •Focus on ensuring customer service times are documented accurately. •Manage other relevant operational details meticulously.Workforce Scheduling and Coordination •Managing and optimizing schedules for the union driver force and company helpers, ensuring efficient allocation of personnel according to operational needs. •Coordinating temporary labor each night in preparation for the next day's operations, aligning staff availability with logistical requirements. •Ensuring compliance with union guidelines and company policies in all scheduling and labor coordination activities.Documentation and Reporting •Generating and emailing reports. •Overseeing print operations. •Creating driver manifests. •Managing other essential administrative paperwork tasks.Qualifications
    • Associate or Bachelor's degree in transportation, logistics, management, or a related field
    • Several years of experience in transportation or logistics, with a strong emphasis on working in union environments within a route delivery setting.
    • Demonstrated ability to adapt and thrive in environments where management actively adopts cutting-edge technologies.
    • Familiarity with the complexities and unique challenges of unionized work settings, ensuring smooth operations and effective team management.
    • Knowledge and experience in implementing innovative solutions to enhance operational efficiency.
    • Adeptness in logistics software suites, including Omnitracs/Roadnet (OT1/RNA Cloud), SmartDrive, GeoTab, YardView.
    • Adeptness in Microsoft Office and productivity software
    • Superior leadership and communication abilities.
    • Strong organizational capabilities.
    • Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
    • Capacity to function independently and collaboratively within a team.
    • Exceptional problem-solving skills.
    • A passion for continuous improvement and staying abreast of the latest industry trends and practices.
