Position Summary: Symbiotic Services is seeking an experienced RPG Programmer responsible for RPG programming on the IBM iSeries, reporting, business analytics, and EDI. This role involves collaborating with vendors and national accounts to ensure system functionality, troubleshooting, and developing SQL queries.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Lead RPG programming efforts
- Build and execute SQL queries
- Manage and develop Electronic Data Interchange (EDI)
- Troubleshoot programming/system issues
- Collaborate with vendors and national accounts
- Handle sales reporting and business data analytics
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Proficiency in IBM iSeries, RPG-Free, RPG ILE, RPG 3 and 4
- SQL and EDI experience
- Office 365, Infinium, and business workflow experience
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a high-pressure, team-oriented environment
Experience & Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Associate degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
- Experience in the furniture or manufacturing industry
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and provide after-hours support
Technology/Communication Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Strong English communication skills
Travel & Other Requirements:
- Occasional weekends/evenings for company events or projects
Physical Requirements:
- Primarily office-based with some visits to plant facilities
- Must be able to lift and move objects up to 50 lbs
