Our tagline is “Helping America's most vulnerable.”JOB SUMMARY :The Facility Director's primary duties are highly focused on the organization's core values and mission-driven approach while interacting with employees, the public, and stakeholders. The Facility Director collaborates with the VOACC leadership team to implement strategic plans for the organization's development, identify growth opportunities, and manage relationships with stakeholders. This role also includes assessing the efficiency of program practices and designing strategic improvements to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety and inspection requirements. A successful candidate will have various skills and qualifications needed to manage the role effectively, including experience in a managerial role, in-depth knowledge in the correction field, staffing plans, budgeting, risk management, and leadership qualities. Common skills and qualifications include:Excellent understanding of budget-related performance.Proven ability to develop and execute financial strategies to meet program needs.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Demonstrated knowledge of regulatory agencies and best practices.Organization and leadership skills.RESPONSIBILITIES :Collaborate with the Deputy Director and management team to identify, create and implement program objectives and contractual obligations.Recruit, supervise and evaluate program staff under the guidance of VOACC policies.Develop program policies and procedures which further the goals and objectives of the agency and the program to maintain effective services in compliance with funding requirements.Develop and implement pre-service and in-service training for all program staff.Reinforce VOACC/BOP policies and procedures as they relate to the program.Promote transparency and collaboration throughout the organization to maintain good culture.Monitor organization operations and ensure employees and practices comply with regulatory and legal requirements.Attend meetings, seminars, and other related functions.Carry out all of the objectives, goals and program activities within the established budget.Develop partnerships with stakeholders, industry regulators and other relevant parties.Identify potential risks and opportunities within the organization and its environment to protect business interests.Develop and maintain positive relationships with funding and regulatory agencies.Develop and manage community relations activities, including supporting the Vice President and/or Administrative Office representatives in facilitating the needs of the contract.Investigate and respond to disciplinary matters concerning residents.Participate in professional enhancement training and activities, to include 40 hours of annual training as mandated by the ACA, BOP, VOACC, and funding source, and maintain certification in CPR/ First Aid.Oversee the billing process to ensure both revenue and expense targets are consistently met.Assist Vice President and Director of Operations with the budget process to meet staff and residents' needs.Work with Vice President to expand Community Corrections business opportunities.Assist other Program Leaders.Perform other duties as assigned.REQUIREMENTS :This position requires a master's degree in criminal justice, social science or a related field, or a bachelor's degree with five years of transferable experience in a correctional setting, community re-entry, justice system or social services field. The position requires a demonstrated ability in program development and personnel management. A successful candidate shall have extensive knowledge of correction, Probation, American Correction Association (ACA) standards, Prison Rape Elimination Action (PREA), and industry accepted practices and knowledge of Residential Re-Entry Services. The position requires a reasonable combination of the following skills and abilities:Budget development and management.Personnel supervision.Property management.Resource development.Public relations.OTHER :This position does require driving.Acceptable Bureau of Prisons background, OIG Exclusion check.Negative Drug/TB Screening.CPR/First Aid Certification must be acquired and maintained once employed.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :The physical ability to stand, stoop, bend, reach, pull, push, lift, grasp, climb, talk, see, hear and operate office equipment.Move and lift light objects up to 30 pounds such as mail, supplies, files, and equipment.Operating office equipment requiring continuous or repetitive hand/arm movements.The ability to remain in a sitting position or walking for extended periods of time.Ability to withstand exposure to the cold and heat.Occasionally, ability to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.EFFECTS ON END RESULTS :To meet program goals, objectives and training compliance.To maintain and improve resident services.To maintain compliance with funding source requirements.To operate effectively within the established budget.To maintain and expand funding base.To maintain 24-hour supervisory coverage of the facility and its residents.To maintain a well-trained staff.To maintain a positive community image for the program.#J-18808-Ljbffr
