About The Position**Job Title:** Respiratory Therapist**Job Specialty:** Acute Care - Respiratory Therapist**Job Duration:** 13 Weeks**Shift:** 3x12-hour shifts, Day/Night/Weekend/Holiday Rotation**Guaranteed Hours:** Not specified**Experience:** 2 years of experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) preferred**License:** New York State Licensure required**Certifications:** BLS, ACLS, PALS preferred**Must-Have:** Previous acute care experience preferred**Job Description:**- Render highly professional and technical care to patients requiring specialized respiratory care interventions.- Collaborate with patients, families, peers, physicians, and other members of the healthcare team to deliver healthcare services.- Assess patient needs, develop and contribute to the plan of care, implement and evaluate the effectiveness of respiratory regimens.- Document all care and interventions in the medical record in accordance with hospital and professional standards.- Communicate essential patient and family information to other healthcare team members and solicit feedback.- Consider physical, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual, and environmental needs to promote dignity and healing.- Obtain and analyze physiological specimens, interpret physiological data, and perform tests and studies of the cardiopulmonary system.- Apply and monitor medical gases and environmental control systems, manage mechanical ventilator support and airway management, conduct bronchopulmonary hygiene, and utilize pharmacological agents related to respiratory care.- Focus on family and patient education to promote knowledge of the disease process, medical therapy, and self-help.- Maintain current knowledge and competency in the practice of Respiratory Care and participate in the mentoring and orientation of staff.- Plan the delivery of care considering factors related to safety, cost, and impact.9390736EXPPLAT
