SCHEDULE: Full Time TRAVEL REQUIRED: 0% - 25% COMPENSATION: $51,790.00 to $106,984.00 base salary plus potential for variable compensation. Base pay is determined by your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Farm Credit Mid-America/Rural 1st may compensate outside of the salary range for bona fide reasons not related to membership in a protected class. About Our OpportunityThe Rural 1st Loan Associate will be responsible for marketing, marketplace development, communication, relationship building and overall portfolio growth through a focused balance of sales, marketing and support in the consumer lending segment. This position will originate consumer credit by assessing requests and obtaining required financial information to determine viability and profitability of the deal. Working collaboratively, the Rural 1st Loan Associate will lead the customer relationship, coordinating with other business segments as appropriate for additional business opportunities. The Rural 1st Loan Associate will also:
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external customers by providing consistent
  • high-quality service that is timely, thorough, and responsive to the needs of different stakeholders.
  • Work closely with Consumer Loan Officers (CLO) to build productive relationships with current and prospective
  • customers based on mutual trust and respect.
  • Use understanding of customer goals, credit strengths and opportunities to deliver value added, constructive
  • financial information to the customer.
This position requires existing NMLS registration under the SAFE Act, or the ability to obtain the same upon hire, and maintenance of a status in good standing during employment. How You Will Spend Your Time
  • Responsible for increasing the Association's market share in the assigned territory and within the assigne segment with new and existing customers.
  • Determines the appropriate customer interaction and coordinates the appropriate staff that may directly or indirectly be part of the relationship to serve the customer's loan servicing needs.
  • Communicates to internal team members regarding the customer's needs.
  • Introduces customers to the Association's process and consumer team that will support the process.
  • Assists CLO with sales pipeline management.
  • Assists CLO in planning and execution of territory sales campaigns.
  • Assists in collecting customer financial information and application details, in compliance with lending requirements.
  • Communicates recommended loan terms, conditions and collateral position consistent with the request andassociated loan risks. Sets clear expectations with the customer.
  • Explains and assists in the construction disbursement process.
  • Partners with loan team members to complete servicing actions required for individual customer circumstances.
  • In order to deliver an exceptional customer experience, the Rural 1st Loan Associate will partner with:
    • Consumer Loan Officers - to determine the appropriate engagement based on customer interactions after identifying the scope of the operations and the business potential. Depending on the territory, may assist the CLO in servicing their current customer portfolio and marketing in the assigned CLO's market place.
    • Rural 1st Operations and Credit - to complete originations and servicing actions required for individual customer circumstances.
    • Appraisal Management Services (AMS) - to assist in identifying collateral and ordering of collateral valuations.
  • As part of the ongoing consultative relationship with our customers, the Rural 1st Loan Associate: Interprets and evaluates financial information; asks probing/ follow up questions to recommend the appropriate product or service.
  • Sets clear customer expectations while recommending loan terms and conditions.
  • Communicates credit decisions and options to customers in counter and denial situations.
Minimum Education & ExperienceBachelor's degree in business, marketing, finance or related field, preferred. Minimum 4 years of successful experience in financially related customer service or sales, loan processing or loan servicing. Mental & Physical RequirementsWhile engaged in this position, team members will routinely sit, use hands for tasks, and communicate orally. Standing or walking is frequently required, while occasional demands include reaching with hands and arms, and lifting or moving up to ten pounds. Vision requirements encompass close and distance vision. The work environment typically has a moderate noise level. This role may entail a blend of mental and physical capabilities, requiring strong mental acuity, problem-solving skills, and occasional physical tasks such as standing, lifting, or extended computer usage. Some roles may require physical or mental requirements related to driving, such as a valid driver's license, and the ability to drive a long-distance.
